Felt like a post today, being currently laid up with a cold ( I'm alreet' no worries :D) and chilling to music. So I thought why not?!
I'm so happy it's finally the Easter holidays! Although is it sad that it's because I can rest the cold out without the constant thought of "Am I missing something really important about what Coleridge did in 1817?!" Rather than "Mate this weekend's going to be wild"? :'D.
The joys of being a Lit student haha, sounding like you're all intellectual but really spending most of the time trying to memorise quotes from 'Gavin and Stacey' rather than 'The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner' ;).
Alas, I am droning on, what I really want to talk about is The Kooks and how epic they are?!
I know that this is not a new revelation to those that have been 'sway'ing since the band hit the music scene in Brighton back in 2004, but they're one of those bands that I loved ages ago and kind of 're - fell in love' with recently... We all love classics like 'Shine on', 'She moves in her own way' and 'Always where I need to be', but they've got loads of other really cool Indie/Rock tunes that I've only heard of recently. 'Seaside' I suppose is one of them, but I know it's always been fairly popular too.
Unfortunately I can't get the version I wanted on here, but this acoustic version is pretty good too!
I love it as, as well as being quite a soothing choice for my banging headache :P, not suprisingly there's not much I love more in life than going to the Seaside.
I love the calmness you get at the beach, the sort that I only feel being next to something as vast and ever moving as the Sea. I love how everything's put into perspective by it some how, like all the little things we stress about seem not very important at all and it's great!
I'm hoping to go to Brighton for what will be my first time this summer, and I'm as excited about walking along the famous 'Brighton Pier' as I am to check out the music scene... It all looks so good!
I hope that this post finds you well, and perhaps you get to go for a trip to the seaside soon.. We all need candy floss every so often I think :D
Take care and I hope to be better for the next post!
Molly xx
