Cream - Sunshine of your love

Hey,

I'm loving the weather today! Literally got up to write a blog post and thought how apt the title is!
I'm one of these people that genuinely feels about 100% healthier and happier when it's sunny, it's so nice!
To be honest I guess it doesn't help living somewhere as cold as England, where I'm actually forced to take vitamin D (no word of a lie, I'm deficient in it :( :D). But still, I love the countryside that England revels in too, so I  can't have it all eh?
Today I fancied posting a song that I absolutely love and, it turns out, knew of ages ago, as Cream's 'Sunshine of your love' is the song Bender famously sings at the start of The Breakfast Club -  "NAH NAH NAH NAH NAH NAH NAH NA NA" (Had to put it in there, sorry).
Funnily enough I only became aware of Cream, through reading a collection of poems written by the late (and if course hugely talented) Richard Beckinsale. It is in these he mentions listening to the band and since hearing their music I'm hooked. I think it's so cool when you find bands/music you like in the most unlikely places, I also think it's great to have as wider range in music taste as possible, it's interesting how many connections you can actually end up making.

If  you're unfamiliar with the band, Cream shot to fame in the 60's as a British Rock Supergroup, and consisted of Bassist/Singer Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker on the drums and Eric Clapton as the lead singer and guitarist. Having a mix of genres, with psychedelic rock, hard rock as well as blues undertones, Cream had a famously unique hybrid that led way to huge success. 'Sunshine of your love' made it to number 5 in the US on release, but it was 'I feel free' that made it to number 11 on the UK chart (also a good one to check out!) and the band sold more than 15 million albums worldwide during their career span.

Have a lovely day and enjoy the sunshine! :D
